Artistic Swimming (formerly called Synchronized Swimming) is a blend of artistry and athletics, in which elements of swimming, dance, and gymnastics merge to create this unique Olympic sport. The Rochester Dolphins Artistic Swim Team is Rochester's only competitive artistic swimming program. Founded in 1990, the Dolphins have grown into a regionally and nationally competitive team, with swimmers competing in the Junior Olympics National Championships. The Dolphins strives to create an environment in which swimmers are supported in their pursuit of individual and team excellence, and where team spirit, sportsmanship, friendship, and fun are given high priority. The Dolphins is equally focused on cultivating athletic skills and strong self-esteem for our swimmers. Program offerings are available for swimmers ranging in age from 7 to 18.
